Alex Smith dived for a touchdown on the first possession of overtime, completing the Chiefs' frantic rally from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Chargers 33-27 in their season opener Sunday in Kansas City, Mo.

Smith threw for 363 yards and two touchdowns, the second a back-shoulder fade to Jeremy Maclin with just over nine minutes left in the fourth quarter that trimmed the Chiefs' deficit to 27-17.

Cairo Santos kicked a 33-yard field goal a few minutes later, and after forcing a three-and-out, Spencer Ware finished off a four-play drive with a TD plunge to tie it at 27.

The Chiefs needed 10 plays to march 75 yards in overtime, and Smith finished off the biggest comeback in team history with his keeper from the 2-yard line on third down.

Raiders 35, Saints 34: The Raiders gambled with a two-point conversion that Derek Carr converted with a pass to Michael Crabtree for the winning points with 47 seconds left. Carr hit Seth Roberts for a 10-yard TD setting up the gutsy call by second-year coach Jack Del Rio.

Bengals 23, Jets 22: Mike Nugent kicked a 47-yard field goal with 54 seconds left, lifting the Bengals. Andy Dalton threw for 366 yards and a TD to A.J. Green, who caught 12 passes for 180 yards.

Eagles 29, Browns 10: No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz had 278 yards passing and two TDs to lead the Eagles. He finished 22 of 37 with a 101.0 passer rating. The Browns lost their 12th straight season opener.

Buccaneers 31, Falcons 24: Jameis Winston bounced back from an INT to throw four TD passes to four different players in the win.

Vikings 25, Titans 16: Eric Kendricks returned an INT 77 yards for a TD and Danielle Hunter scored a 24-yard TD off a fumble return for the Vikings, who forced three turnovers in just under seven minutes.

Packers 27, Jaguars 23: Aaron Rodgers threw two TD passes and ran for a score and the Packers defense made a last-minute stop on fourth down on its 14-yard line.

Ravens 13, Bills 7: Joe Flacco threw a 66-yard TD pass to Mike Wallace and the Ravens defense allowed just 160 yards in the team's first season-opening win since 2012.

Texans 23, Bears 14: Brock Osweiler threw for 231 yards and two TDs in his debut with the Texans. Rookie Will Fuller had 107 receiving yards and a TD and Lamar Miller ran for 106 yards.

Seahawks 12, Dolphins 10: Russell Wilson hit Doug Baldwin for a 2-yard TD with 31 seconds left to rally the Seahawks. He was 27 of 43 for 258 yards with a TD and an INT.

Lions 39, Colts 35: Matthew Stafford was 31 of 39 for 340 yards with three TDs and Matt Prater made a 43-yard FG with 8 seconds left to lift the Lions.

Giants 20, Cowboys 19 : Eli Manning tossed three TD passes, including the go-ahead score to Victor Cruz in Cruz's first game in nearly two years, to give Ben McAdoo a win in his debut as coach.

Patriots 23, Cardinals 21: Jimmy Garoppolo, starting for the first time in place of suspended Tom Brady, threw for 264 yards and a TD. Cardinals K Chandler Catanzaro missed a potential game-winning 47-yard FG with 41 seconds to play.
