Want to throw a chic summer party but you’re on a tight budget? We’ve got you covered.
The key to a fantastic summer party is simplicity, said Nicole Pittmon, event planner and stylist at Nicole Marie Events.
Pittmon and Ann Saavedra, owner of Dreamcatcher Events, said don’t worry about everything matching, which also works in a frugal party-thrower’s favor. Focus on multiples, like a bunch of varied votives for lighting. “Votives are your workhorses. People love candles,” Saavedra said.
“Keep things simple and think of a theme. Have one central idea, maybe it’s color, and go with it,” Pittmon said.
Green is this year’s trendy color, while geometric shapes and natural fabrics are also on point for a summer gathering, she said.
