Wife accuses Depp of domestic violence
Amber Heard was granted a restraining order against husband Johnny Depp on Friday, after appearing at the courthouse with a bruised face and alleging the “Alice in Wonderland” actor had physically abused her prior to filing for divorce on Monday.
People magazine reported that Heard submitted a photograph of herself with what appears to be a bruise surrounding her right eye.
According to People's source, “This was not an isolated event.”
Though the judge granted Heard a temporary restraining order that requires Depp to stay 100 yards away from Heard until a further hearing next month, several of Heard's additional requests were denied, including spousal support and an order to protect one of the couple's dogs from Depp, TMZ reported.
On Thursday, a representative for the actor addressed the divorce to People saying, “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
Depp, 52, married Heard, 30, in February 2015, after the pair had dated for three years.
