The 40th anniversary Maryland Wine Festival is set for Saturday at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster.

The event features wine from at least 27 local wineries, food options from more than 20 food and dessert trucks, a vendor marketplace with over 45 booths and two live bands offering entertainment, according to a news release.

New this year, the festival will offer four beer vendors, including a specialty brew named Farmhouse Ruhls, in honor of the 40th anniversary of the festival. Linganore Winecellars in Mount Airy will also have a limited edition 40th anniversary wine, called 40, at the event.

Author and winemaker Carlo DeVito will be onsite for a wine book talk and book signing.

The Maryland Wine Festival was established in 1984 in Union Mills and has been held at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster since 1985, according to the release.

Janna Howley, executive director of the Maryland Wineries Association said it means a lot to the community to be celebrating the festival’s anniversary.

“This festival is something people put on their calendars every single year and it’s amazing to see friends and family gathering at this event year after year,” she said. “It really is a community gathering and you can tell that this is something they look forward to every year.”

The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the event.
