The U.S. Marshals Service has joined the search for a man accused of going on a bank robbery spree in the Baltimore area.

Donte Green, 34, is wanted for several robberies and attempted robberies that occurred over a three-week period in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, according to the Marshals Service.

Green is sought in the robbery of the Truist Bank on East Baltimore Street in downtown Baltimore on Sept. 17.

According to charging documents, Green slid the teller a note that read, “I do not have anything to lose. I have explosives in bag. I need all money.” Investigators say the teller complied and Green fled the bank with more than $2,000 in cash. The teller informed Baltimore Police the suspect had a distinct tattoo under his left eye.

According to charging documents, investigators searched the suspect’s description in their database and, after comparing that information with surveillance video from inside the bank, named Donte Green as their suspect.

Court records also say Green was already wanted by police in two jurisdictions — for a March assault in Baltimore City and a probation violation in Baltimore County.

On Sept. 24, Green is accused of targeting two other banks — the Capital One Bank at 1241 West Pratt St. and the Fulton Bank at 4101 Loch Raven Blvd.

According to charging documents, Green handed over his Maryland ID to the teller at Capital One Bank before sliding her the envelope containing the same note as was used in the Sept. 17 robbery. Investigators say the teller did not comply and Green fled the scene before police arrived.

Approximately 30 minutes later, Green attempted to rob Fulton Bank, court documents say. In this case, investigators said the teller handed over nearly $500 in cash but included a GPS tracking device with the money. Responding officers traced the GPS to a nearby neighborhood where they recovered the tracker and money, but not Green.

Green is believed to be responsible for committing four additional robberies or attempted bank robberies over the next two weeks, according to investigators. Locations include Truist Bank in Towson, and three Baltimore City businesses — an Ace Cash Express, a PNC Bank and an M&T Bank.

Records show Green has a history of interaction with law enforcement that spans 15 years. According to Maryland Case Search, Green was arrested for attempted first-degree murder in Baltimore City in 2021.

According to the city State’s Attorney’s Office, the case was dropped the following year due to a witness and/or victim failing to appear in court.

In 2009, records show Green was convicted of an armed carjacking and sentenced to five years in prison. According to case search, Green violated his probation in 2014. Other previous arrests include one for assault in 2009 and another for burglary in 2008.

According to the US Marshals Service, the FBI is assisting local police in the bank robbery investigations.

Anyone with any information regarding Green’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Marshals Service at 202-819-5058.
