Allegations of thousands of dollars in unapproved spending at Maryland’s NAACP have led to the suspension of President Kobi Little and Treasurer Joshua Harris and calls for the suspension of three vice presidents, FOX45 has learned.

Several members have complained to the national organization that the three vice presidents were reimbursed more than $31,000 for travel expenses in one month without showing receipts to support the expenses, according to a complaint obtained by FOX45.

The complaint also alleges that the organization paid $24,000 to hold a membership meeting at a member’s church.

It also spells out salaries budgeted for top leaders: $60,000 to the president, $15,000 to each of the three vice presidents.

“It’s bad enough that they’re getting paid but they’re not serving the community,” complained Marvin “Doc” Cheatham at a news conference last week.

The national organization has appointed an administrator to oversee Maryland’s organization.

“The injustices they’re alleged to have perpetrated, they don’t deserve to be back in the NAACP,” said Cheatham.
