Katy Perry has put to rest years of speculation and veiled references to a supposed feud with Taylor Swift, saying on James Corden’s show Monday night that the feud is real and that Swift started it.

And not only did Swift start it, Perry said, “It’s time for her to finish it.”

During a segment of Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke,” Perry, 32, also confirmed the long-rumored reason for the feud, which is apparently the inspiration behind Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Perry’s new single “Swish Swish,” Jezebel reported.

Corden got the discussion going by saying to his guest: “There’s no denying it. There’s a Taylor beef. And when are we going to clear that beef up?”

Perry got right to it and confirmed a widely circulated rumor: that her fight with Swift, 27, started over backup dancers.

“It’s so crazy,” Perry said, explaining that some of her regular dancers, who got a gig working for Swift, were fired after they expressed an interest in returning to tour with Perry.

“And I tried to talk to her about it, and she wouldn’t speak to me,” Perry says. “I do the right thing any time it feels like a fumble, and it was a full shutdown. And then she writes a song about me. And I’m like, ‘Oh, cool, cool, cool. That’s how you wanna deal with it? Karma.’?”

Perry said she’s ready for the feud to be done, but Swift has to make the first move.
