Charles Barkley apologized for a comment he made to a female political reporter about hitting her.

Axios reporter Alexi McCammond wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that when she questioned Barkley on his indecisiveness over the Democratic presidential hopefuls, Barkley told her “I don’t hit women but if I did I would hit you.” When she objected to his remarks, Barkley told her she “couldn’t take a joke.”

The 56-year-old Hall of Famer and TNT analyst, apologized, saying his comment was “inappropriate and unacceptable.”

Barley said in the statement that “it was an attempted joke that wasn’t funny at all. There’s no excuse ... and I apologize.”

Mavs rout Warriors: Luka Doncic scored 33 of his 35 points in the first half and had another triple-double to help the host Mavericks rout the Warriors 142-94. Doncic played 25 minutes total, tallying 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Mavs tied a franchise record with 22 3s while sending the Warriors to their to worst loss since a 1973 playoff game.
