A Catonsville consignment shop, Object Found, is closed until further notice following a fire Sunday morning.
With a sign purporting that it’s “the area’s largest estate liquidator and consignment shop,” the store is located at 11 Egges Lane — about a block away from the Baltimore County Fire Department’s Catonsville station.
Crews were dispatched at 8:08 a.m. for the report of smoke showing from the shop’s roof, according to fire department spokesperson David Blenman.
As part of an “aggressive fire attack,” crews infiltrated, Blenman said. Opening the rooftop — known as vertical ventilation — can improve conditions inside a burning building, often making the building safer for firefighters and allowing them another angle from which to deploy water onto the fire.
The fire was brought under control around 9:50 a.m., according to Blenman. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
On social media, Object Found posted an image of the storefront with a ladder going up to the roof and a fire hose across the front entrance, with the caption, “Due to fire, Object Found will be closed until further notice.”
