Marian D. Webb, federal worker
Marian D. Webb, a retired federal worker, died of congestive heart failure Nov. 3 at her Randallstown home.
She was 77.
Born Marian McNair in Durham, N.C., she was the daughter of Samuel McNail and Ernestine McNair.
She was a 1957 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and attended what is now Morgan State University.
She joined the federal government and worked for 35 years for the U.S. Postal Service, the Coast Guard and the Baltimore office of the Department of Health and Human Services, where she was director of acquisitions and grants. She retired in 2004.
She was married for nearly 38 years to Robert L. Webb, who owned a Randallstown barbershop.
She traveled with her husband and financially assisted charities including the Lupus Foundation, Save the Children Federation and veterans groups. She was also generous to her church.
Her husband died in 2014.
Mrs. Webb entertained her extended family and prepared meals at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also enjoyed sewing.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at New Antioch Baptist Church, 5609 Old Court Road, where she was a member.
Survivors include two sons, Antoine Butler of Los Angeles and Mark Butler of Baltimore; two daughters, Monique Hicks of Baltimore and Robyn Webb of New York, N.Y.; a half sister, Willa Robinson of Maxton, N.C.; and eight grandchildren.
