PORTLAND, Ore. — Bradley Beal was expected to rejoin the Washington Wizards on Thursday in Salt Lake City to play tonight against the Utah Jazz and Saturday in Denver against the Nuggets, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Beal sprained his pelvis in Saturday's loss to the Indiana Pacers. He stayed in Washington when the Wizards traveled to the Pacific Northwest to begin a three-game road trip against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, but the team remained optimistic its second-leading scorer would join them later in the trip.

The Wizards (30-33) extended their three-game losing streak with a 116-108 overtime loss to the Trail Blazers on Tuesday that dropped them to 2.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
