Saturday’s screening is “The Thing” (1982) starring Kurt Russell and Sunday’s screening is “The Blob” (1988) starring Kevin Dillon and Shawnee Smith. “The Thing” is a remake of the 1951 Howard Hawks’ film, the first film in John Carpenter’s “Apocalypse Trilogy” and what many critics consider his finest effort.
