A physical altercation between employees of Stevenson University’s food service contractor sent one man to the hospital, a university spokesperson confirmed Saturday.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Stevenson’s Office of Campus Safety was notified of an altercation among three employees of its food service contractor, Sodexo.

Each of the three individuals were armed during the conflict — one with a knife, one with scissors and one with a meat cleaver, according to a spokesperson with the Baltimore County Police Department, Jasmine Fleet.

Campus Safety found one person injured at the scene and determined that the two others involved had left campus.

The injured individual was transported to Northwest Hospital, according to Rudy Dawson, Stevenson’s director of campus safety.

Fleet said the victim had a confirmed injury to the arm but was unable to confirm if the victim had sustained any other injuries.

She called the injury “serious but not critical” on Sunday.

Baltimore County Police is investigating.

“The three individuals involved in the altercation have been barred from campus,” Dawson said. “No Stevenson students or employees, other than the three referenced employees of our vendor, were involved in or affected by this incident.”

Sodexo officials could not be reached for comment.
