A pregnant woman and her unborn child were shot to death in a domestic dispute on Easter in Baltimore, police said.

Gunshots were reported at about 3:30 p.m. in the 4800 block of Claybury Ave., and responding officers found evidence of a shooting but no victim, police said. More than two hours later, at 5:40 p.m., the woman was found outside a city hospital with gunshot wounds to her body, police said. The woman and the baby died from their injuries, police said.

Police did not identify a suspect, but authorities said they have a person of interest in the case.

It came during a violent weekend in which three other people were killed and eight people were wounded in shootings across the city beginning Saturday, according to police.

Two men were injured in separate shootings about 25 minutes apart on either side of the city Sunday night, police said. A man was shot in the side about 9:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of Greenmount Ave. in East Baltimore’s Johnston Square neighborhood, police said. The other was shot in the leg about 9:45 p.m. in the 800 block of Appleton St. in Midtown Edmondson on the west side, police said. Both men were taken to hospitals.

About 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a man was shot in the arm and leg during a hold-up at a carry-out restaurant in Southeast Baltimore, police said. The victim was working at the carry-out in the 1600 block of Bank St. when two suspects walked in and announced a robbery, police said. One of the suspects had a gun and shot the victim during the robbery, police said. The victim’s condition was not released, nor were any further details.

Other victims over the weekend included a 57-year-old man killed in an attempted robbery, a 28-year-old man fatally shot in the head near an East Baltimore elementary school and a 90-year-old woman grazed by a bullet.

A man was shot multiple times and killed Sunday afternoon in the Brooklyn neighborhood of South Baltimore, police said. Officers were called shortly after 12:30 p.m. to the shooting in the 4100 block of 6th St. The wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he died. Police did not provide his name or age.

The28-year-old was shot shortly before 12:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of N. Caroline St. in the Oliver neighborhood of East Baltimore, police said. They said an unknown gunman walked up and opened fire. The victim died at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Police did not provide his name.

Then at 1:45 a.m., officers were called to the Broadway East neighborhood. Police said a 53-year-old man was shot in his stomach in the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Ave. He was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.

About an hour later, a 32-year-old man was shot in the right leg in the 4500 block of Erdman Ave. in East Baltimore. He was hospitalized in good condition, police said.

Those shootings followed three on Saturday.

Around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man checked himself into Good Samaritan Hospital with a gunshot wound in his lower back, police said. The man was expected to survive. Detectives have not determined where he was shot, police said.

About two hours later, a 57-year-old man was shot and killed during a robbery in Cherry Hill, police said. Officers were called to the 800 block of Bridgeview Road at 5:45 p.m. Saturday for the shooting. Police did not provide the victim’s name.

Next, two people were wounded in a double shooting around 7:15 p.m. in West Baltimore, police said. Officers called to the 1800 block of Harlem Ave. found a 56-year-old man shot in the leg and the 90-year-old woman grazed in the foot by a ricochet.

Both victims were hospitalized in good condition, police said. Detectives believe the shooting began with an argument.
