The Baltimore County Department of Health and Human Services announced a plan for public facilities to be used for people suffering from homelessness when the forecast calls for below-freezing weather. The plan will be in place through April 15.

Public facilities such as libraries, shopping malls, churches, and senior and community centers will be available for those who need shelter during the day.

On nights when the temperatures are below 32 degrees, emergency shelters will be provided at the Eastern Family Resource Center (9150 Franklin Square Dr. in Rosedale) and the Community Health Center (1811 Woodlawn Dr. in Woodlawn).

Those needing shelter are encouraged to call 410-887-TIME (8463). Residents are asked to arrive no later than 10 p.m.
