Baltimore restaurateur Jose Victorio Alarcon is set to open a new Peruvian eatery in Fells Point.

Alarcon, who founded Puerto 511 downtown, plans to open a second restaurant called Empa 511, a sit-down, fast-casual empanada restaurant that will be located at Brown’s Wharf later this spring.

“Peruvian cuisine is considered by many as among the most popular and best-tasting foods in the world given its vibrant flavors and variety of dishes,” Alarcon said in a statement Monday.

The eatery will feature an assortment of empanadas, plus Peruvian chiles, with about 10 indoor seats and an outdoor patio.

“Jose Victorio Alarcon is a talented and innovative chef, known for his distinctive menu offerings that have captivated both Baltimore City locals and visitors,” said Kristina O’Keefe, vice president of Continental Realty Corp., the owner and landlord of Brown’s Wharf. “Empa 511 stands out as a unique and exciting addition to the Brown’s Wharf tenant lineup. The Fells Point community has a strong appreciation for diverse culinary concepts and consistently supports them.”
