Matthews to sit with shoulder injury
Auston Matthews will miss the Maple Leafs’ home game Saturday night against the Bruins because of a shoulder injury.
The All-Star forward had an MRI, and a clearer indication of the severity of the injury is expected Saturday.
Matthews has 28 goals and 22 points in 53 games.
The Penguins acquired C Derick Brassard from the Senators in a three-team deal that sent D Ian Cole to the Senators and F Ryan Reaves to the Golden Knights. The Sens also received G Filip Gustavsson and the Penguins’ first-round draft pick this year as well as their third-round selection next year. The Pens also acquired a pair of prospects — F Vincent Dunn from the Sens and F Tobias Lindberg from the Golden Knights — plus the Sens’ third-round pick this year.
