Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have announced that the agency arrested nearly 500 illegal immigrants nationwide during the first hours of President Donald Trump’s second term.

The agency reported more than 460 arrests over a 33-hour period spanning Tuesday to Wednesday. Those arrested had criminal histories including sexual assault, robbery, drug and weapons offenses and domestic violence, among other offenses, ICE officials said Wednesday.

ICE also said it issued more than 420 detainer requests, which ask local jails to hold an individual past their release date while the agency weighs deportation proceedings against them. The detainers affected individuals from Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Venezuela, the agency said in a statement.

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents in Salt Lake City said they arrested Jesus Perez, a citizen of Mexico accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He is in ICE custody amid removal proceedings.

In New York City, ICE agents apprehended suspected MS-13 gang member Jose Roberto Rodriguez-Urbina of El Salvador. The 22-year-old is accused of overstaying his terms of admission to the U.S.

Rodriguez-Urbina is also the subject of an Interpol Red Notice for extortion, ICE said.

ERO agents in Baltimore reported the arrest of Miguel Ramirez-Fajardo, a Mexican citizen who they say entered the U.S. illegally without being inspected by Border Patrol officials. He remains in ICE custody ahead of potential removal from the country.

Officers in Buffalo arrested Antonio Pina-Sanchez of Mexico, who is accused of aggravated unlicensed operation motor vehicle while intoxicated. He is in ICE custody and also faces removal from the U.S.

San Francisco ICE agents say they arrested Colombian citizen Daniel Andres Orjuela Parra, who was convicted of “sexual penetration with a foreign object on an unaware victim.” He was sentenced to three years in prison for the offense, according to ICE.

Trump administration border czar Tom Homan said on Fox News Tuesday the president’s executive orders on immigration, such as one targeting birthright citizenship, would lead to heightened security for U.S. citizens.

“This is going to give us the most secure border of my lifetime,” he said. “Birthright citizenship is a major driver of illegal immigration. I’ve done this for over three decades. One of the first things an illegal alien does when they get here is get birthright U.S. citizenship for their child. That makes them immune from our laws.”

Homan also said the Supreme Court might weigh in on whether Trump’s order violates the 14th Amendment that guarantees citizenship to anyone born in the country.
