At their legislative session Tuesday evening, members of the Baltimore County Council unanimously appointed three new members to the county’s planning board.

The appointments came after county voters approved a resolution limiting planning board members to serving three consecutive terms while giving the County Council the power to appoint and confirm new members.

The first new member, Edward Braddy, was nominated by Councilman Julian Jones, a Democrat representing western Baltimore County.

Braddy, who owns a Burger King franchise location, described himself as a business leader who has lived in the county for 50 years and paid property taxes for 40 years.

“I have 50 years of business experience. I’ve also worked for Baltimore County for a little while as a zoning enforcement officer, and I’m a real estate agent,” Braddy said.

The second new member, commercial broker Christopher Brody Tennant, was nominated by Councilman Pat Young, a Democrat representing southwestern Baltimore County.

“Just wanted to say I do love Baltimore County, and [I’m] looking forward to hopefully getting to work to make a difference,” Tennant said.

The third new member, Mark T. Duvall, was nominated by Councilman Wade Kach, a Republican who represents northern Baltimore County. He will replace board member Wayne McGinnis, who is limited by the new rules after serving eight terms.

“Those are definitely big shoes to fill, 25 years,” Duvall said, acknowledging his predecessor’s longevity.

Braddy, Tennant and Duvall will serve three-year terms and would be eligible to serve until 2034 if reappointed to two more terms each.
