Baltimore-based Pilates House plans to open a 2,800-square-foot studio in the Village of Cross Keys this summer.
Adjacent to the Cece’s Roland Park restaurant courtyard, the new space will feature reformer and infrared mat Pilates training, as well as a small boutique with clothing and wellness merchandise, according to Caves Valley Partners, which has redeveloped Cross Keys. An exact opening date has not been set.
“The vibrant mixed-use community with its thoughtful redevelopment and new energy feels like the perfect next home for us,” Pilates House owner Penny Lane said in a statement. “We chose Roland Park because of its potential to be a true community outpost for Northern Baltimore. The convenient location with easy access and parking makes Cross Keys the perfect spot for our next studio.”
With locations in Fells Point and Federal Hill, Pilates House was founded by Lane in 2019 shortly after she relocated to Baltimore from Nashville.
Pilates House’s reformer and hot classes are designed to complement each other as part of a cross-training experience, according to Lane. Pricing varies based off class type but will be in line with the other studios, according to Lane.
“The Pilates enthusiast will be able to enjoy a pre- or post-session catch up with friends at any of Cross Keys’ seven food and beverage concepts, receive a treatment at Numa Aesthetics or Ivchankova Studio, have a makeup consultation at Bluemercury, get a cut and style at Corbin Salon, and shop at our unique selection of boutiques,” Arsh Mirmiran, a partner at Caves Valley, said in a statement.
Cross Keys has undergone a complete overhaul since 2020, including the additions of new food, beverage, retail and services. A 331-unit luxury apartment complex called the Sanctuary at Cross Keys is currently under construction, and a new office building is planned with the opening date still pending.
