A fourth suspect has been charged in the January fatal shooting of a teen in Columbia while a reward for information on the location of the alleged shooter has increased to $10,000, the Howard County Police Department announced Friday.

Jeremiah Robinson, 20, was charged with first- and second-degree murder in the Jan. 14 shooting of 17-year-old Lance Carrington, police said. Robinson is being held in the Howard County Detention Center without bail. Police are still searching for Jemik Parker, 16, who they believe was the shooter.

In a Feb. 5 news release, police announced the arrest of three others in the shooting. All three suspects were indicted on Feb. 19 in what police are calling a targeted robbery attempt. The three Columbia residents, Janae Baker, 18, Kendall Stagg, 18, and Charles Epperson Jr., 19, were each charged with first- and second-degree murder.

Police discovered Carrington’s body at about 8:30 p.m., Jan. 14 in the 6000 block of Helen Dorsey Way in an East Columbia neighborhood. Officers were conducting a welfare check when they found a parked car playing music with the brake lights on and what appeared to be damage from a bullet in the front driver’s side window, according to charging documents. Carrington, of Columbia, was found shot to death inside the car.

Police said they got a report from “a concerned citizen” that Parker arrived at their home looking distraught, saying he had shot someone and didn’t know if they were dead, according to charging documents.

Police said that Stagg, Epperson and Baker had been on an Instagram video call earlier in the day and discussed a plan to steal a gun from Carrington by luring him to the area with the promise of a drug sale.

Stagg offered Baker $500 to help set Carrington up, according to charging documents. When Baker and Carrington were inside the car at the meeting spot, Parker approached the driver’s side of the car with a gun while Epperson helped Baker out of the car and Stagg stood behind the vehicle with Robinson, according to charging documents.

Shots were fired and all four fled from the scene, police said. When speaking with detectives, Stagg provided details about the shooting, including his location at the rear of the car with Robinson, matching what Epperson had said, according to charging documents.
