Red Sox: David Ortiz went 4-for-4 with a solo home run and a double and Jackie Bradley Jr. extended his hitting streak to 27 games in a 5-2 win over Indians. Ortiz drove in three runs as the Red Sox won for the 10th time in 14 games. Bradley's streak is the longest in the majors since Nolan Arenado of the Rockies had a 28-gamer in 2014.
Rangers: Cole Hamels fanned a season-high 11 in eight innings and the offense jumped on reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel early, cruising to a 9-2 win over the host Astros to complete a three-game sweep and deal the hosts their fourth straight loss. The Rangers have won 14 of 16 from the Astros.
Yankees: Michael Pineda won for the first time since his opening start and Starlin Castro hit a tiebreaking, two-out single in the sixth inning to extend the team's winning streak to five for the first time in nearly a year with a 5-4 win over the A's in Oakland.
Diamondbacks: Zack Greinke threw eight strong innings and Paul Goldschmidt drove in a pair of runs to key a 7-2 win over Cardinals. It was the first series win for the D'backs in St. Louis since April 18-20, 2003.
Mets: Noah Syndergaard struck out 11 in seven innings and Michael Conforto homered to beat the Brewers 3-1 for a three-game sweep, their first home sweep of the Brewers since 2002.
Mariners: Leonys Martin had four hits and Robinson Cano drove in two runs in a 5-4 victory to sweep the Reds and hand the hosts their seventh consecutive defeat. The Mariners have won four in a row. The Reds finished their homestand 0-5.
Umpire takes a hit: Plate umpire David Rackley left the Dodgers-Padres game in the fifth inning after getting hit in the groin by a foul bunt attempt by the Dodgers' Joc Pederson. Rackley was down for about five minutes and had to be helped to his feet. He left the field under his own power, and handed a ball to a kid on his way to the tunnel. The game resumed after a 15-minute delay.
Extra innings: Carlos Perez homered and drove in a career-high five runs as the Angels beat the Orioles 10-2 in Anaheim, Calif., to avoid a three-game sweep. Perez tied a career-high with three hits. ... Todd Frazier of the White Sox hit his 13th home run to tie Mark Trumbo of the Orioles for the AL lead. ... Jose Bautista and Josh Donaldson of the Blue Jays started the game with back-to-back home runs off Phil Hughes in a 3-1 win over the Twins. ... A's RHP Sonny Gray was put on the 15-day DL because of a strained muscle near his right shoulder blade.
