Sunset Cove, known as “Middle River’s original beach bar,” is permanently closed, according to a social media announcement on Sunday.
The restaurant, located at Maryland Marina, posted a message to their Facebook page with the news. The waterfront dock bar and eatery has served the Middle River community for over a decade.
“We would like to take this time to thank all of our loyal customers and employees,” the Facebook post said. “It has been an amazing run with many fantastic memories.”
Scott and David Steele own Sunset Cove along with two other restaurants in the Bel Air area, Steelefish Grille and The Hickory Lodge.
“We look forward to seeing many of you at Steelefish Grille and Hickory Lodge,” the post said.
Sunset Cove featured a full menu of seafood, steaks and burgers along with a tiki bar. The waterfront destination, with its sand and palm trees overlooking Frog Mortar Creek, was known for its relaxing and transformative atmosphere. It was an honorable mention for Best View in The Baltimore Sun’s Best of Baltimore awards in 2024.
The owners of Sunset Cove could not be immediately reached for comment.
