Bronushasis second all time in wins and strikeouts for the Mavericks with an ERA of 1.56. She had five strikeouts and didn’t allow a run until the fifth inning in Eastern Tech’s 7-5 win over Lansdowne in last season’s Baltimore County championship game, the Mavericks’ sixth straight title.
Collins batted .589 with a .623 on-base percentage and a 1.125 slugging percentage last season for the Bulls, including 11 doubles, five triples and three homers (one a grand slam). She also pitched, finishing with a 1.37 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 81 innings. She has signed with Rutgers.
After becoming a starter as just a sophomore last season, Dustin hit a Howard County-leading seven home runs, and she finished with a .569 batting average. Hitting from the No. 3 spot in the lineup, she had 38 RBIs, 30 runs scored, seven doubles and a triple.
As a freshman, Gemmill hit .440 with five home runs and 25 RBIs last spring, including a home run and four RBIs in the Eagles’ 17-11 upset win over end-the-year-No. 1 Archbishop Spalding in the regular season. She was named to the All-IAAM A Conference team.
As a freshman starter, Sena batted .436 with a .618 slugging percentage and 20 RBIs to help lead the Cavaliers to their second straight IAAM A Conference title and the final No. 1 ranking in the metro area last spring. She was also selected to the All-IAAM A Conference team.
Thompson struck out 149 with a 2.00 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP in 112 innings last season, including two no-hitters. She was also a threat at the plate, batting .426 with seven doubles and 14 RBIs.
Trail went 15-4 with 152 strikeouts and just 16 walks in 2016, finishing with a 0.78 ERA to lead Carroll County for the third consecutive season. She batted .224 with six RBIs, two doubles and one triple to help lead the Lions to 17-4 record and an appearance in the Class 2A West Region final.
Weddle hit .404 with four doubles, four triples, 23 runs and 15 RBIs to help the Eagles win the Class 3A East Region championship, the school’s first since 2007. She led off that victory over Mount Hebron with a triple, and earlier in the season, one of her two home runs was the first to leave Northeast’s new field.
In earning All-Metro second-team honors last spring, Wieman finished with an 8-3 record, a 2.76 ERA and the best strikeout to walk ratio (85/18) of any Howard County pitcher. She also had a .377 batting average with 14 runs, 12 RBIs and four doubles.
